On Alpine Writer we aim to please the ski lovers like ourselves.

I sell stuff that I myself wanted to buy, but could not find.

Who is Barbora, the Alpine Writer.

I am a skier, a historian, a writer, and a copywriter. I am a journalist writing for the Skiers Planet, whose articles I share with my readers.

I grew up in the mountains. In North Bohemia, where snow starts to melt, while in other Czech cities, flowers already bloom.

I have skied since I was three. We visited the Alps as soon as our family could afford to cross the borders in 1996. I still like to watch the family video from those years. We were amazed watching the gondolas and wide, white slopes, eating Germknödels big as a dog´s head.

Flachau, Austria, 1997; I am the smallest person in the photo of course.

Since then I have been in the Alps at least three times a year, mostly in winter, sometimes in the summer. But my love for skiing was only magnified when I met my husband. As a hobby ski racer, racing in the FIS Master competition and conquering the famous Gardenissima, he introduced me to the world where skies get to be properly vaxed and professionally prepared. A world where you don´t just ski; you learn, grow, and improve.

We visit Austria and South Tyrolia every year. We watch the alpine skiing World Cup races, and as a writer and journalist, I found a way to turn my passion into occupation with Skiers Planet and this newsletter.

Join me and let us enjoy the love of skiing, the love of the Alps and ski racing together.
